• What’s Happening Around Cannonball

  • Andiamo will host a local wine dinner series on February 24, March 24, and April 28, featuring a four-course, chef-curated menu paired with wines from Stonington Vineyards, Kingdom of the Hawk / Saltwater Farm, and Jonathan Edwards Winery. These are ticketed events with 30 seats available. Pricing and menus coming soon. Tomorrow afternoon, Bridge will be on-site at Andiamo capturing content for the wine dinners, Valentine’s Day, and upcoming initiatives.

• Rio Salado winter hours are now 11:30am–9:00pm, seven days a week, and have been updated on the Winter Hours Google Sheet and Ken is updating the hours on the web and socials.

• Bridge held their first content shoot at Jeremiah’s, showcasing the new Winter Bistro Menu that launched last night. The food and beverages were absolute home runs. Excited to see the finished content and upcoming shoots at each location.

• New gift cards (without JM) have been dropped off at each location. Please recycle any old cards.

• Quarter zips coming: GMs and full-time managers will receive logo’d quarter zips. Samples arrive next week to try on. Thank you, Brett, for leading the charge on this.

• Shaping the future of Cannonball: Keep brainstorming ways to make our workplaces fun, engaging, safe, and crushing the game. Send some ideas my way.

• GMs and Chefs: If you have not booked our monthly yet, please use the scheduling link. When confirming, check that the time zone is Eastern Standard Time. It defaulted to Pacific previously… Sadly the weather did not transfer.

• Payroll update: GMs will be taking over payroll for your buildings. Over the next two pay periods, I will sit with each of you and walk through the process so you feel confident by the March 1 payroll.

Should an incident occur, record it in the binder, snap a photo for a digital copy, and email me a copy please. For all other incidents involving guests, vendors, or property, please continue using the Incident Report form on The Dash.   • Taquerio is changing names to TacoRio. Actual date on this is TBD, but soon.

  • TacoRio will be participating in Mystic Aquarium’s Freezin’ for a Reason Onesie Day downtown on Saturday, 2/21. Guests visiting in onesies will receive raffle tickets. TacoRio will host a Onesie Party from 7–10 PM with DJ Sisky, with a donation tied to frozen drink sales.

  • Once submitted, Chef Ken and I will add it to the master building list we’re creating for each location to ensure we cover all the bases and check all the boxes for remaining compliant, safe, and clean.

    • We will then schedule time this week to review and discuss the plan together.

• All managers, please familiarize yourself with this article and share it with your team: Service Versus Emotional Support Animals: What Restaurant Workers Need To Know

• Connecticut Law: Service Animals in Restaurants

  • Under Connecticut law, only service animals are permitted inside restaurants. A service animal is defined as a dog (or in rare cases, a miniature horse) that is individually trained to perform tasks related to a person’s disability.

  • Emotional support, therapy, or comfort animals are not considered service animals and are not allowed in restaurants unless the establishment voluntarily allows them.

  • If it is not obvious that the animal is a service animal, staff may politely ask only two questions:

    1. “Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?”

    2. “What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?”

    Staff may not ask about the person’s disability or request any documentation, ID, or proof of training.

• GM’s + Chefs: Please take a minute to review your labor forecasts together to stay aligned and keep hours accurate. It might feel like a chore, and on-the-fly tweaks will always come up, but the more we stay dialed in, the better the team can plan for their income, and the better we’re set up for success.

• Reminder: send all petty cash receipts to Katie directly at the accounting@cannonballmgt.com email instead of uploading to Margin Edge. This will apply to all petty receipts – food, beverage, maintenance supplies, etc. Please spread the word to all the assistant managers/anyone who uploads to Margin Edge.

• Under Forms, you will now see a new option for “Incident Report.”

  • Please use this form going forward for any situations that need documentation, including injury, strong guest complaints, property damage, theft/loss, drug or alcohol-related concerns, behavior issues, or other incidents requiring documentation & follow-up. When in doubt, complete a Report.’

  • WHY? This keeps things clear and consistent, helps protect everyone involved, and makes sure issues get handled the right way.

• A few final pieces are still outstanding for the 2025 Wrap-Up, so it will be released on Monday to kick off our new Weekly Newsletter Series.
